Fongs Pizza: Fong’s Pizza was opened on January 26th, 2009 by Half Court Press, a sister company of Full Court Press. Gwen Schlepphorst’s dream of a delicious pizza place with late-night slices was paired with Jeff Bruning’s idea of a tiki bar. Being that we took over the location of King-Ying Low, Des Moines’ oldest Chinese restaurant, we wanted to keep Asian inspiration on our menu. You can enjoy hand-rolled crab rangoons, family recipe egg rolls, Chinese ribs & move on to our Asian-inspired & traditional pizzas with many happy endings for dessert. Our décor is a mix of Chinese, Oriental, Polynesian & Italian with a 40’s & 50’s feel. Think of a ‘frozen in time’ dive bar with delicious food, great service & tasty tiki drinks that pack a real punch.
