Johnny's Italian Steakhouse: Johnnys Italian Steakhouse is reminiscent of Des Moines favorite supper clubs and its name pays tribute to two of the former clubs that were also named Johnnys (Johnnies Vets Club and Johnny & Kays). Waiters in black pants and white shirts, distressed dark hardwood floors and large upholstered wooden booths, black mosaic tiles, and private seating divided by heavy velvet drapery will welcome you into the past. A shaken martini in a frosted glass, the distinctive aroma of Italian specialties, charbroiled steaks and chops are just a few of the pleasures to be found at Johnnys.
