Café di Scala: Cafe di Scala is located in a Century Old Victorian Mansion a few blocks west of Downtown Des Moines in the Historic Sherman Hill Neighborhood. The Cafe and Wine Bar is located on the first floor, while the owner/chef occupies the upstairs residence.
The Cafe is noted as one of the most romantic dining experiences in the metro area. The cuisine evolves seasonally, while the wines are chosen carefully to compliment each ingredient. Combining the philosophy of “Fresh and Local” along with desserts and homemade pastas crafted daily, guests will be greeted with both imagination and tradition.
If you are searching for a Cozy, European Environment to spend an evening, guests may visit Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Cafe is open from 5-10 pm and hosts Live Jazz Series throughout the year on Saturday evenings.
Exclusive Coursed Dinners or Afternoon Luncheons are available when the Cafe is not open. With arrangements made in advance, your group can Reserve the Entire Cafe for a private event. Please call or email our staff to discuss any of your dining needs.
