I agree about the burnt ends. Best in town (and may be the only place that even has them in Des Moines). Unfortunately, I hear rumors that the woman who bought it from the founders decided that owning a restaurant wasn't as romantic as she'd envisioned and is looking to sell. Would be a shame to lose them, as the east side has no good BBQ, but maybe she can sell it to someone who knows what running a restaurant entails?

Hasn't been open that long, but very friendly people. The burnt ends are the best i've ever tried. Has been closed recently due to a small fire, and have driven passed the place about a dozen times hoping it's going to be open again.
