We are incredibly disappointed in our visit to Taki. We ordered the Tropical Tuna roll, Crabbed Out, and the Captain Crunch. This was the last sushi place we had yet to visit here in Des Moines. I don't understand why our rolls were so terrible but it was awful! They were really loose and the veggies and such were not fresh- they were soggy. The tuna was black and purple instead of fresh red/pink like it should have been. I know everyone tells us the sushi is the best here so maybe we just caught the chefs on a bad day but both of us couldn't finish our rolls as they were so gross. We did pick it up to go so maybe that had something to do with it? We only traveled 5-10 minutes with them. Price was average- normal for what we expect to pay for sushi.

Taki is an outstanding place to eat. The chefs are always funny and amazing with there presentation (my personal favorite the steaming train made from an onion). Food is tasty, price is a little high but normal for teppanyaki cooking. Probably some of the best sushi as well.
